China launches multiyear ASEAN business travel visa

Business Man Modified 1241003 639X715 1 China has rolled out a landmark business travel visa for the Southeast Asia region.

Aiming to boost business travel and trade, the ASEAN visa program allows multiple entries for up to five years and a maximum stay of up to three months per visit.

It is valid for the 10 ASEAN countries and East Timor.

These are Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.

It also extends to the primary visa holder’s spouse and children to encourage blended bleisure travel.

“This initiative will further promote regional mobility and deepen cooperation between China and Southeast Asia,” said Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian.

Citizens of Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand already have reciprocal 30-day visa-free access for business and tourism purposes.
