A movement is gaining steam to rename Birmingham Airport to honour the Black Sabbath icon.

In less than two days a petition has reached nearly 12,000 signatures.

It was launched by fan Dan Hudson after Ozzy’s death.

The petition calls for the airport to be renamed to “Ozzy Osbourne International”.

“Naming our international airport after him would be a fitting tribute to his extraordinary career and contributions to the arts,” he said.

He cited examples including John Lennon Airport in Liverpool.

“Together, we can celebrate the legacy of Ozzy Osbourne and the incredible influence our city has had on the world stage, thanks to him.”
