BA drops hot breakfast on short haul routes

British Airways Tails British Airways is dropping hot breakfasts on key domestic routes and some short European flights.

The flag carrier claims the change will improve overall passenger service.

All these affected services are from London Heathrow and last no more than 80 minutes’ flight time.

The impacted routes are to Amsterdam, Belfast, Paris, Dublin, Jersey, Manchester and Newcastle.

Due to post take-off and landing safety requirements, it leaves only about 40 minutes to serve and for passengers to consume their hot breakfast.

BA insists it is not a cost-cutting measure. It will ‘deliver the best possible service,’ it says

Separately, BA is introducing a new Ploughman’s Afternoon Tea service on longer short-haul flights, which will feature more deli style options like cured meats, savouries, cheeses and a scone with clotted cream and jam.
