Alaska Airlines expands west coast network

Alaskaairlines18 Alaska Airlines is boosting its West Coast presence with the launch of seven new nonstop routes.

It aims to move in to plug the gap of Avelo recently announcing it was exiting the West Coast market.

It will offer new flights across Washington, Oregon, California, and Idaho starting in late October.

Three of the new routes are from Hollywood Burbank Airport, which was a key regional base for Avelo.

Starting October 26, travelers can fly nonstop from Burbank to Eugene, Pasco, and Redmond.

The airline company will also introduce ski season flights to Sun Valley, Idaho from San Diego.

“We’re proud to offer the most flights and seats between California, Washington, and Oregon,” the airline said.

“These new additions continue our mission to connect guests across growing markets in the West.”

A new route will connect two popular CA tourist destinations – Palm Springs and Santa Rosa, beginning October 26.

All the new routes will be flown on 76-seat Embraer 175 aircraft.
